Tourism of Vitosha – from the first steps to today

For all those who love tourism and are curious to learn more about how it developed on Vitosha, an exciting exhibition is about to open. The exhibition is called "Tourism of Vitosha - from the first steps to today" and will be opened on February 6, 2024 (Tuesday) at 6:00 p.m. in the building of the Sofia History Museum (Banski Square 1).
If you have a sentiment for the bygone era and are interested in history and the lives of iconic personalities, this exhibition is sure to excite you. It focuses on the development of the Vitosha Nature Park and tourism and presents the long process, including the creation of the iconic tourist companies, the construction of the key lodges , the phased construction of the infrastructure.
The physical retrospective of the Park's past includes:
– Document samples;
– Distinctive signs;
– Diplomas;
– Tourist clothing;
– Accessories for mountain hikes;
The list of participants in the first organized ascent of Black Peak, prepared by Aleko Konstantinov on August 27, 1895, is also on display.
Special guests at the opening will be the performers from the choir "Mountain Song - Filip Avramov" with conductor Ivan Hristov. The exhibition will be available to visit in the period February 7 - April 28, 2024. You can learn more details from the event on Facebook.
"Tourism of Vitosha - from the first steps to today" is carried out with the joint cooperation with the Directorate of Nature Park "Vitosha", the State Agency "Archives", the Historical Museum - Svishtov, the Tourist Association "Aleko Konstantinov 1899", the Tourist Association "Edelweiss", in "Echo" - publication of the Bulgarian Tourist Union, Decathlon Bulgaria, Nikolay Treiman and private individuals.
