Sofia will have new floral decoration solutions
Six months after planting 38 000 flower bulbs in the garden in front of the official entrance of the National Palace of Culture, we already have a flower logo of the Bulgarian presidency. The figure is an idea of the Dutch embassy, and the designer is Jan Huldemond, former chief designer of the world-famous and world's largest Keukenhof gardens. That said Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova, who together with Minister Lilyana Pavlova and the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Bulgaria HE Bea ten Tusscher unveiled the flower figure.
The tulips were donated by the Embassy of the Netherlands and were planted by the municipal enterprise "Parks and City Gardens", thus this summer there will be new floral decoration solutions in the green areas of Sofia. They are located in the cloverleaf interchange of Bulgaria Blvd. and the Ring Road, on the access road to Sofia Airport and others.
“The Dutch experts took care of the Bulgarian Presidency logo to bloom this spring and to please not only the guests of Sofia and the fora participants, but also all Sofia citizens who walk in the park of the National Palace of Culture”, said Mayor Yordanka Fandakova. Ms. Fandakova thanked Amsterdam for the partnership and noted that spring allows the capital to show its full beauty through other floral decorations implemented in the city.
“This gift of flowers is just the crown of the support that the Netherlands gives to Bulgaria in its important role as President of the EU Council. The most valuable is the experience and recognition we receive from a country that 12 times has been president of the EU Council and is one of the best examples of successfully guiding the work of the EU Council”, said Minister Lilyana Pavlova.
“These flowers are a symbol of the progress and success of the Bulgarian Presidency. All delegates and guests from my country are impressed both by the work of the Presidency and your capital, including your beautiful gardens, said Ambassador Bea ten Tusscher.
