I believe that a city where new schools are built has a future. This said the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova

I believe that a city where new schools are built has a future. This said the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, who attended the ground break of the construction site of the new school and kindergarten "Britannica" building in Dragalevtsi quarter. The Mayor of Vitosha district, Teodor Petkov, also attended the event.

Mayor Fandakova congratulated the investors and designers of the site and wished successful work to the construction workers. This is an investment for the children of Sofia, said Mayor Yordanka Fandakova.

Investments in education are important. We are preparing the construction of four new schools in Sofia, Fandakova also pointed out.

We have refurbished all the schools in Vitosha district and built a new kindergarten. We are going to overhaul the 52th Elementary School “Tzanko Tserkovski” in Boyana, which will be fully renovated and the 64th Elementary School in Simeonovo, where we will implement energy efficiency measures and expansion with a student centre and a gym.

Sofia Municipality has clear priorities and invests in education. We build and renovate kindergartens and schools, sports halls and playgrounds. So far, we have built 92 new kindergarten buildings, this year we are opening three more and we will start another nine. It is envisaged that the new school and kindergarten "Britannica" will admit about 450 children. The building is expected to be ready in September 2019.
