Martin Matov from Kindergarten №40 "Prof. G. Angushev", Sofia, Triaditsa district, became champion in the preschool group at the final of the Thai International Mathematical Olympiad held on February 21, 2018 in Bangkok.
1 500 students from 12 countries took part in the math Olympics. The Bulgarian team consisted of 48 students from 13 Bulgarian cities from preparatory class up to twelfth grade, who classified for the final following qualification held in Bulgaria on December 17, 2017.
The competition took place in 11 age groups for two hours on 30 math problems.
This success is a testimony to the intellect of Bulgarian children and the public attitude to science. It indicates the high level of the education system and in particular pre-school education, as well as the collaboration between teachers and parents.
