The exhibition is a finalizing stage of the project for post-graduate education for young artists, initiated earlier this year by the Institute of Contemporary Art in Sofia.
In a sense, the exhibition is an exploration of the concept of `young artist` in Bulgaria today. Despite the fact that the authors are representatives of one generation, each of them has their own artistic principles, strategies and personal attachments which they turn to and integrate with in the global world of contemporary art.
The exposition does not have a unifying theme; each author develops their own statement - sentimental, emotional, research, experimental, sometimes harsh, reflecting the living fabric of everyday reality in which we exist
Different artistic tools have been used. The works displayed in the exhibition "Close Encounters" are not so much connected but rather their authors.
The "Close Encounters - Visual Dialogues / School4artists” Project is implemented with the financial support of the Program "Culture-2017" of Sofia Municipality.
