The first of the new batch of trains for the third metro line has already been produced and is already in the process of technical testing. Tests are carried out in Germany. There are also 4 (of 20) more trains in production. It is planned that the first trains will begin arriving in Sofia this summer.

The new trains have reduced power consumption, reduced noise levels, and a self-driving option. It will also be possible to walk through the entire length of the train, not just the separate carriages.
