20 new buses run on Line 11 in Sofia

20 new articulated buses start serving Line No. 11 - one of the longest urban lines connecting the residential areas “Geo Milev”, “Krasna Polyana” and “Ovcha Kupel”. We are going to commission another 40 articulated buses running on natural gas on lines 280 and 204 – said today the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova.

We are at the end of the program - these are the last 60 buses, which by the middle of this year will replace 91% of the buses into circulation. This means that the average age of the buses in Sofia will be 6 years, said the mayor.

With the modernization of the vehicle fleet, we have reduced 2.5 times the emissions of the urban transport. This year, another 15 electric buses and 13 new trams will be delivered. The procedure for the purchase of 25 new trams is also being prepared. Up to now, we have purchased 25 new trams and 40 modernized, with which we have replaced part of the oldest trams in Sofia, said also mayor Fandakova.

The new buses have all the comforts for the passengers - they are air-conditioned, with phone chargers, free Wi-Fi, and places for disabled, and mothers with prams.
