The famous singer has experience of joint performances with a classical orchestra, but for the first time he will share a stage with a world-famous formation. The star of the program from the Bulgarian side will be the singer Lubo Kirov, who will sing "Wear white" and "Hubava si, moya goro" together with the English Chamber Orchestra.
"It is an honor for me to be a part of the gala evening with the English Chamber Orchestra, because it is one of the prestigious European ensembles for classical music," said Kirov .
Since 1977, the British Orchestra has had Prince Charles III as its patron, as well as the privilege of playing at many events of importance to the royal family. The most recorded orchestra in the world will play for the first time in front of the Bulgarian audience. The orchestra's repertoire includes over 1,500 works by over 400 composers. In Sofia, works by classics such as Mozart, Handel, Bach and Elgar will be performed. The program will be honored with the presence of young Bulgarian talents who will perform specially developed Bulgarian folk songs to the accompaniment of the English Chamber Orchestra as a tribute to the native audience.
The concert is under the patronage of the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, and H.E. Dr. Robert John Dixon, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Bulgaria. According to him, the meeting of British musicians with Bulgarian performers is a good sign of cultural cooperation between Great Britain and Bulgaria.
The concert is part of the Cultural Events Calendar of the Metropolitan Municipality.
