In 2018 Sofia Zoo celebrates 130th anniversary. It was founded in 1888 with the Decree of Prince Ferdinand and during its long history passed through two world wars, changed location and became one of the most attractive and favorable places in Sofia.

Sofia Zoo is the oldest and the largest in the Balkans. Here you can see over 2 000 specimens of 250 species of animals from all over the world.

These beautiful photos gives a glimpse of some remarkable animals through the lens of photographer Marcel Fens.
