Banya Bashi Mosque is the only active Muslim temple in Sofia.

It was built in 1566-1567 by the prominent architect-builder in the history of Ottoman architecture Kodja Mimar Sinan Aga (1489-1588).

Its walls are built of carved stone and brick. The central cupola is covered with lead plates. The interior of the mosque is decorated with colourful ceramic tiles.

On Fridays the mosque is visited by 700 Muslims.
