We continue to support municipal hospitals and start investing in outpatient care. This year we invest nearly BGN 6 million in municipal hospitals and diagnostic-consultation centres (DCCs). Fifteen DCCs receive funds from Sofia Municipality for repair and purchase of new equipment. That said the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova when checking new equipment for the Department of Neonatology at the First Municipal Gynaecological Hospital "St. Sofia". Deputy Mayor of Healthcare, Doncho Barbalov and the Chair of the Standing Commission on Healthcare, Dr. Veselin Milev also attended the inspection.

So far, investments for over BGN 1.8 million have been made the municipal hospital "St. Sofia". The departments of neonatology, pathological pregnancy, registry office and the central lobby were repaired, and new equipment was purchased.

This year, we invest about BGN 1 million in the hospital. Ten 10 neonatal beds for new-borns who are in the early adaptation stage were purchased and delivered. At the present, the roof is being repaired. It is also planned to repair the delivery rooms and the department of breast surgery, to purchase new equipment – mammographic equipment, ultrasound and laparoscopic equipment for the surgical unit. 

Since the beginning of the year, 1370 babies were born in First Gynaecological Hospital "St. Sofia".

Under the Invitro Program of Sofia Municipality 9 babies were born so far, 5 girls and 4 boys, the last two are twins. Annually, Sofia Municipality allocates BGN 70 000 for the program.
