Sofia Deputy Mayor Doncho Barbalov congratulated the participants and organizers of the International Cycling Tour of Bulgaria, which is held after a break of nearly three years and launched the race from the National Assembly Square in Sofia.

The resumption of one of the oldest cycling competitions in Europe, which was held for the first time in 1924, today gathered over 120 riders from different countries.

Barbalov greeted the participants and Bulgarian Cycling Federation chaired by Dragomir Kuzov.

There are four Bulgarian teams and they will compete with the best European cyclists.

Sofia traditionally hosts a number of sports competitions. Last weekend the 100-kilometer tour of Vitosha took place. Sofia Municipality develops opportunities for riding bikes in the city and especially to the mountain.
