The program of the 22nd edition of the 'European Music Festival 2022' offers an excellent selection of performers, 13 concerts and other accompanying events.
The opening will take place on Tuesday (April 19th) in Bulgaria Hall with Mozart's violin concerts performed by the Classic FM Orchestra with conductor Maxim Eshkenazi, with Mila Georgieva as violin soloist.
The festival will last until November 8, and among the highlights will be the visit of the world-famous violinist Pinkas Zuckerman (October 28, Bulgaria Hall). His program will also include Mozart – an overture from 'The Wedding of Figaro', Violin Concerto № 5 and Symphony № 40.
Ten days earlier, on October 18, the British pianist Julian Trevelian and the Austrian violinist Maxim Tsekov were guests.
Among the nails is also the concert of the ensemble '5/4 Tango' with music by Astor Piazzolla on May 16. The ensemble was created last year. at the initiative of maestro Ludmil Angelov, which includes Serbian violinist Jovan Bogosavlievic, guitarist Tsvetan Nedyalkov, Margarita Kalcheva (double bass) and the first Bulgarian bandoneonist Stoyan Karaivanov, who is only 25 years old.
In June come the Polish accordion trio Motion (2.VI) with their program 'From Chopin to Maximuk' and fado artist Kamane (8.VI). He will present his latest album Aqui Está-se Sossegado (Portuguese – 'It's calm here') together with pianist Mario Laginha.
Not all concerts will be in Bulgaria Hall. There will be some at the Central Military Club, the concert hall of the National Academy of Music, and on May 20 at Largo in the center of the capital will be the Golden Feather Awards Ceremony, followed by the performance 'Europe Dances'.
The European Music Festival is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the National Culture Fund and the Sofia Municipality. Tickets are sold at the box office in Bulgaria Hall and at ticketsbg.com.
