The Sofia Municipality submitted the application form for financing under Operational Programme “Environment” for purchasing 30 trolleybuses, 10 charging stations for them, 30 electric buses and for the reconstruction of 3 rectification stations along the trolleybus routes.

The electric buses will be 12-metre long, incorporating a fast-charge technology.

This is the third project for which the Sofia Municipality applies for financing under the OPE.

Last week, the Municipality submitted the necessary documents for its project for 25 new trams and 52 short electric buses, to be used as feeder lines to the metro stations.
