After Munich, a test electric bus will run for a week in Sofia

We develop a concept for transport for access to subway stations. Currently, we are working on proposals for “Ovcha Kupel” and “Lyulin” districts. We start testing a small 6-meter bus before we announce a purchase order for 30 electric buses, said the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, at the presentation of the test electric bus.

After Munich, the 6-meter electric bus will be tested in the Sofia districts of “Ovcha Kupel” and “Lyulin”. The electric bus has zero emissions, air conditioning, and is adapted for people with mobility disabilities and mothers with baby strollers.

Since last year, the first 20 electric buses for Sofia have been running on lines 9 and 309, and this autumn we will supply 15 more. In the recent years we have made huge investments in the modernization of 90% of the buses and trolley buses in Sofia.

We are also preparing the project for the purchase of 82 electric bus, 30 trolley buses and 25 trams with funds from OP "Environment".

Mayor Fandakova also drove the test electric bus. The professional car racing driver, Pavel Lefterov, tested the bus in the garage of "Stolichen avtotransport". Lefterov won the first prize in the only 24-hour championship on Nürburgring in Germany.
