Обратно Fandakova: Thirty new gas-fuelled buses launched on Sofia public transport

From today, December 28, 2018 another 30 new gas-fuelled buses will be included in Sofia's public transport fleet. With the new 30 buses, we are gradually replacing the old ones on line №111. The buses meet the EURO 6 emission standards, and are equipped with air conditioning, low floor and free Internet. This said the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova at the presentation in the presence of the Deputy Mayor, Doncho Barbalov and the Director of Sofia Auto Transport, Slav Monov.

For the maximum comfort of the passengers, the new buses are equipped with air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and have continuous video surveillance.

By mid-2019, another 112 new gas-fuelled buses will be launched, which will mark a 90% renewal of all buses running on the city lines.

A few weeks ago, we also launched the first 20 electric buses in Sofia, serving public transport lines №309 and №9. We also refurbished the buses going to Vitosha Mountain and now they are modernized, suitable for mountainous terrain and have more seats and luggage compartments, which facilitates carrying ski, sledging, snowboarding, etc. equipment.

The overall modernization of urban transport is part of our programme for the improvement of air quality and for attracting more passengers to use public transport.
