The Deputy Mayor of Ecology Yoana Hristova is going to a working visit to the Norwegian Capital Oslo, in order to participate in the negotiations for partnerships in the area of the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programme, organized by the Vision for Scientific and Technological Growth Foundation and the Oslo International Hub.

The objective of the visit is to establish partnerships for the preparation and development of projects under the "Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area" and the Norwegian Programme 2014 – 2020 in the area of Energy Efficiency and Energy Security, for which EUR 28 mln. has been allocated. The partner in the implementation of this Programme is the Norwegian Department of Water Resources and Energy Sources.

The subjects to be discussed during the meetings are related to the use of geothermal energy, improvement of the energy efficiency for the implementation of pilot projects for buildings with almost zero energy consumption; rehabilitation and modernization of street lighting and monitoring the energy consumption of municipal buildings.

This event will be financed by the BG04 Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programme, within the Bilateral Relations Fund, funded by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2009 – 2014.
