1267 babies have been born at the hospital since the beginning of the year

“We are purposefully investing into the improvement of the conditions for the patients of the municipal hospitals on obstetrics and gynecology which are among the best in Sofia and in the country. We have renovated the maternity room of “Sheynovo”, we also purchased modern medical equipment and now we are finishing the overhaul of the building and the replacement of the heating installation”, said the Mayor of Sofia Municipality Yordanka Fandakova during an on-site inspection.

The complete overhaul of the building of the “Sheynovo” hospital on obstetrics and gynecology began this Spring without interrupting the functioning of the hospital and was funded with 850 000 leva from the municipal budget. The facades of the building have been renovated, the roof has been repaired, as well as the heating installation and the plumbing.

“Around 20-25% of the energy expenses will be saved thanks to the energy efficiency – that’s around 5 000 leva per month, which will be left for the salaries of the hospital’s staff”, said Mayor Fandakova.

Thanks to the efforts of Dr Belev the hospital has started training post-graduate students in neonatology. 1267 babies have been born at the hospital since the beginning of the year, 4 of them – today, on August 15th.
