The fifth forestation season at Sofia’s New Forest near Suhodol starts on November 9th at 11 o’clock and will continue until December 1st 2019.

The fifth forestation season at Sofia’s New Forest near Suhodol starts on November 9th at 11 o’clock and will continue until December 1st 2019. Tree planting activities will be held during the four week-ends if the weather permits. A temporary bus line under No. 56А will operate on these days. The first stop of the buses will be “Vardar” subway station and from there they will transport the volunteers to the forestation area. The buses will operate from 10:00 to 16:30 with one hour intervals. During this season once again we’ll count on volunteers for the creation of Sofia’s green filter.

Greater turnout is expected this season, as suggested by the numerous calls and letters expressing the desire to take part in the forestation activities. Experts from “Municipal forests” Department will be present on site to guide the volunteers in planting the saplings. Gloves and tools have been supplied. Information on the course of the campaign will be published on the website of Sofia Municipality and on the Facebook pages of “Green solutions for Sofia” and “Sofia’s New Forest”.
